Until 1998, the Guinness Book listed Ethel Granger as having the smallest waist on record at 13 inches/33 cm (probably my arm), before she started wearing her corsets, she had a natural waist of 22 inches.
Her story has intriged me quite a bit, she was doing everything for love and fashion corsets. Her husband William died before Ethel, who passed away in 1982. After William died, Ethel kept wearing her corsets.
For many corset enthusiasts, Ethel Granger remains a mystery, and many are still fascinated by her appearance.
